On a hot tiring day, more than water, cool breeze can bring solace to our body and soul right away. Sometimes I like to think that our loved ones and our ancestors, from the realms beyond are blowing this wind for us, to comfort us way the way we comfort a small baby by blowing wind on baby’s forehead. When a gentle breeze visits us next time, we can smile fully and welcome it with all our being. Wind maybe a movement of molecules, but wind can also be a door or an object of insight that lets us reclaim our connection with our Mother Earth — who contains all our loved ones: of the past, present and future. Every object and every phenomenon can bring us back to our roots. This is the meaning of “universal door”.

When we are calmly sitting near our window-sill with rays of comforting sunlight gently kissing our skin, we can look within and say something like this:

Dear heart, I never knew who you are. I thought you needed my mind to function but I forgot that you have a way of your own. Within you is a spring of endless love, intuition and creativity. Within you lies the merit of countless saints and angels. Please guide me from within. Please teach me the way of love and healing.

With the sun of compassion and warmth shining in our heart, we can endure all the winters of life, with grace and gratitude~

Regardless of the country, anytime a bus driver encounters another bus driver on the road, they sound horn and smile at each other. It also happens with taxi drivers and cyclists.

When we see the sun, we can always smile. Our smile is a testament of our realisation that we have the element of sun within us. Sun in the water we consume. Sun in what we see. Sun in our body. We are driving sun around and carrying sun in everything we do.

We are sun-drivers and we see that all beings are fellow sun-drivers too. This interconnectedness can bring smile on our face right away as we wish each other ~

Each day as we wake up, we need to hope that we all, as species, will learn to live in harmony with the environment and with the other beings that inhabit it. I strongly feel that hope is a moral obligation. We all are morally obligated to hope. When we hope, we acknowledge and remind ourselves of the fact that there are kind and good hearted people all around us, trying to make this world a better place in their own ways. Without hope, there is no point in doing whatever we are doing. Hope in this sense isn’t a blind self-help optimism, but the very chisel with which we carve the world and our purpose. Hope is the very ingredient of world-making~
